Basement Key
Unlocks the Basement Door
The Basement Key is a special key in Blue Prince. When used on a door, the key usually does not fit and cannot actually be used to open the locked doors.
How to obtain
This item can be found in the following locations:
- A Basement Key appears on the central table of the Antechamber when the room is entered for the first time.
- [Major Constellation: Spiral of Stars] The random item effect from the Spiral of Stars, before the word "showroom" is added, can provide a Basement Key.
[Upgrade Spoiler: Cloister] Drafting a Master Bedroom from a Cloister of Mila when the Gear Wrench has been removed from the item pool makes it contain a Basement Key.
Usage
The Basement Key appears in the special keys menu when interacting with a locked door. However, in most cases, it doesn't fit.

When interacting with a locked basement door, using the Basement Key on the door permanently unlocks that door, allowing it to be opened and walked through.
Using the Basement Key does not consume the key, allowing multiple basement doors to be opened in the same day.
Interactions
[Outer Room: Trading Post] The Basement Key can be traded away in the Trading Post as a tier 4 item.
