Castling is a special move in chess that involves both the king and rook chess pieces. The clues show that one must shift powers, and the puzzle is related to chess pieces; as such, the powers that shift are chess powers, specifically swapping between the king and rook pieces.

As such, by solving the chess puzzle while having Banner of the King and then choosing Resilience of the Rook as the power to switch to, all of the stated requirements have been met.

When the puzzle is solved, the rook and king permanently swap places in The Precipice and the bishop vanishes permanently (preventing ever choosing Piety of the Bishop as a chess power after this point), being replaced with the entrance to The Precipice/Unknown.
