The way to open the Cloister wall can be learned from a note in the Solarium. "While face-to-face with the angel, press the base of the two pillars on either side of you". This also reveals a hidden note and an Allowance Token behind the statue, on the pedestal.
Interactions

- The Cloister cannot be drawn while drafting in the Library unless at least 2
are held.
- Drafting the Greenhouse makes the Cloister more common today.
- The Cloister costs no gems to draft if the Terrace is on the estate.
- The Cloister is more likely to contain random items when drafted while the Veranda is on the estate.
- Drafting the Patio may spread a green gem to the Cloister.
- The Watering Can can be used once in the Cloister to exchange one 1
for 1
.
- Drafting the Cloister after activating Florealis, Bloom of the Sky today will cause it to contain two gem flowers.
- The Cloister is drawn significantly more often during a Green Rooms-restricted draft, initiated by using the green book in the Secret Passage or by using the Prism Key on a locked Green Room door.
- The Cloister can appear consistently as a default option even after it has been drafted once the draft pool is depleted, typically appearing in Slot 3 once the pool is completely devoid of valid Green Rooms. This can cause it to break its usual drafting requirements and be drawn with a doorway leading outside of the house.
[Outer Room: Shrine] Drafting the Cloister while cursed will cause the player to lose 1
.
[Upgrade Spoiler: Nursery] Drafting the Cloister will cause 2
to appear in the Indoor Nursery.

All upgrades add an additional effect to the Cloister when certain types of rooms are drafted from that Cloister. Activating the effect gives a unique message which is different for each upgrade.
They also change the angel statue in the middle to match the angel name in the title.
[Datamined Information] Taking any Cloister upgrade permanently changes the Cloister's Dynamic Rarity to Standard.
A covered walk and colonnade surrounding an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden. A statue of Rynna, the Paragon of Gardening, has been emplaced here at the behest of the gardener, who should be very pleased to see his dream fulfilled.
― Updated Room Directory
Whenever a Green Room is drafted from the Cloister of Rynna, luck is increased for all rooms drafted in the future. This is a powerful increase, with two activations being akin to having a Veranda but for every room. Triggering the Cloister of Rynna's effect causes Rynna's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "You feel a little luckier..."
- [Datamined Information] Specifically, 6 luck is added per activation.
A covered walk and colonnade surround an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden. A statue of Joya, the Paragon of Cuisine, has been emplaced here as a celebration of the exceptional work of Chef DeCamp and the kitchen staff, whose delicious dishes never fail to get you back on your feet.
― Updated Room Directory
Whenever a Kitchen, Pantry, or Furnace is drafted from the Cloister of Joya, the Dining Room gets 5
permanently added to its Main Course. Triggering the Cloister of Joya's effect causes Joya's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "The MAIN COURSE has been permanently upgraded."
- There is no cap to the amount of steps the Main Course provides.
- This does not impact the Lunch Box.
- This is the only effect that can increase the number of steps in the Main Course.
- This effect is permanent, even if the Cloister's upgrade is changed later.
A covered walk and colonnade surrounding an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden. A statue of Dauja, the Paragon of Husbandry, has been emplaced here. You can't help but notice that more birds than usual have taken up roost in the surrounding rafters.
― Updated Room Directory
Whenever one of the following rooms is drafted from the Cloister of Dauja, 2
is gained. Triggering the Cloister of Dauja’s effect causes Dauja's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "In the sky, you see the shepherd’s guiding light."
A colonnade surrounds an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden, with a newly installed statue in the center. Veia, the Paragon of Ash, was long ago the most revered angel in Orindia, as soot, ash, and black smoke were considered sacred to the people of the First Era.
― Updated Room Directory
Any room with a fireplace drafted from the Cloister of Veia spawns with 8 additional dirt piles, which appear near the fireplace. Triggering the Cloister of Veia's effect causes Veia's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "The chimney has been swept of soot."
Not every room with a fireplace can be drafted from another room. The rooms that can are:
Repellent appearing in the
Bedroom beside a maid's brush aftering being drafted from the Cloister of Mila
A covered walk and colonnade surrounding an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden. A statue of Mila, the Paragon of Service, has been emplaced here in a strategic effort to boost staff morale.
― Updated Room Directory
Bedrooms drafted from Cloister of Mila doors contain an additional item, marked by brush that does not usually appear in the room. Triggering the Cloister of Mila's effect causes Mila's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "The maids have purposefully left this room untidy."
The items found are deterministic and depend on both the Bedroom drafted and the items available in the item pool. The Clositer of Mila will generally start by trying to spawn rare special items, followed by less special items if the rare items are unavailable, and finally resource items if nothing else can spawn.
Below is a list of items. For the items on this list, the first item on the list that is currently in the item pool will spawn.
1 The upgraded variants of the room maintain the same item lists, although if the upgrade removes the Bedroom type the items will not spawn.
2 [Datamined Information] The pair of dice is the special dice. The gem is the fourth item for if the special dice are unavailable.
3 Her Ladyship's Chamber can be drafted from the Cloister by drafting the Cloister on the edge using a color-selective draft.
Although the Hovel is a Bedroom, it is impossible to draft it from a Cloister.
Bunk Room was excluded from the above table as it is more complicated. It will contain the first item on the following list which is available to spawn:
- 2 Silver Keys. These keys can spawn as long as there is no Silver Key currently in the inventory; keys not picked up, a Silver Key in the Coat Check, and a Silver Key used previously in the day do not prevent the spawn.
- This interaction is one of the only self-contained methods of obtaining multiple copies of a special item. With a Silver Key in Coat Check and additional Silver Keys from other rooms drafted from Cloister of Mila, it is possible to hold upwards of four Silver Keys at once.
- Two Vault Keys, taking the first two available out of 370, 233, 304, 149. If there are less than two Vault Keys still available, the other key cannot spawn either.
- Two pairs of dice (4
total). This spawn requires currently having 0 dice.
- Two cupcakes.
A covered walk and colonnade surround an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden. A statue of Lydia, the Paragon of Mastery, has been emplaced here as a tactful reminder to the staff of the limitations of ambition.
― Updated Room Directory
Whenever a Shop is drafted from the Cloister of Lydia, 2
is added to the player's allowance. Triggering the Cloister of Lydia's effect causes Lydia's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "Your allowance has been increased."
A covered walk and colonnade surrounding an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden. A statue of Orinda, the Paragon of Royalty, has been emplaced here in defiance of the 6th Era Edict, which prohibits the dissentious angel from being depicted with both a crown and a scepter.
― Updated Room Directory
Whenever a Blackprint is drafted from the Cloister of Orinda, a random Antechamber door is opened. Triggering the Cloister of Orinda's effect causes Orinda's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "Before her, the path is revealed."
Becoming a Blackprint, it loses the Green Room interactions.
[Outer Room: Shrine] It still acts like a Green Room when cursed, removing 1
on draft.
A covered walk and colonnade surrounding an enclosed and seemingly inaccessible garden. A statue of the 8th paragon, Draxus, the Shade of Death, has been emplaced here, serving as a foreboding warning to the overconfident explorer who believes their days are innumerable.
― Updated Room Directory
Upgrading the Cloister to the Draxus version sets its gem cost to 0
. It is the only upgrade which has a different gem cost to its base version.
The Cloister of Draxus has two closely related but technically separate effects:
- Firstly, only Dead Ends are drawn when drafting from this room.
- "Dead End"s still count as Dead Ends, so it is possible to continue onward using a Secret Passage.
- It is sometimes possible for the Morning Room to appear in the first draw when drafting from this room.
- Using a Prism Key or Silver Key on a door from this room overrides its effect.
- Secondly, whenever a Dead End is drafted from the Cloister of Draxus, the player gains 4
. Triggering the Cloister of Draxus's effect causes Draxus's portrait to appear on the side of the screen, along with the message "The shadow of death rolls over you."
- This again generally counts "Dead Ends".
- While this will usually trigger for any room drafted from the Cloister of Draxus, if the first effect is circumvented by drafting a non-Dead End, the dice may not be granted.
- Bunk Room does not activate this effect twice, only providing 4
.
Certain rooms which can change Dead End status have unusual interactions with these two effects:
[Upgrade Spoiler: Spare Room] The Spare Secret Passage cannot be drafted from the Cloister of Draxus ordinarily, despite being a "Dead End". However, it can still be drawn there by warping a Prism Key, which allows it to be drafted and does, in fact, provide dice.
[Contraption Spoiler: Power Hammer] The Greenhouse cannot usually be drafted from the Cloister whatsoever due to the two rooms' drafting requirements. It is possible to out-draft the Cloister on either wing with a Green Rooms-restricted draft due to the Cloister's position as a default Green Room and draft the Greenhouse from it this way; however, the Cloister of Draxus does not hold the same position as a Red Room and cannot be drafted on the wings this way. Nevertheless, it is possible to invoke both Draxus effects by out-drafting the base Cloister or any green Cloister upgrade on a wing and then upgrading the floorplan to the Draxus version, which causes the existing Cloister to gain the Draxus upgrade's effects. Doing this reveals that the Greenhouse can always be drawn under Draxus' restriction effect, but only provides dice if the wall is unbroken.
The Cloister of Draxus becomes a Red Room and is no longer a Green Room, causing it to gain the following interactions:
However, a small number of effects still seem to consider the Cloister of Draxus to be a Green Room:
[Outer Room: Shrine] The Cloister of Draxus still acts like a Green Room when cursed, only removing 1
on draft.
Spoilers Within
This section contains spoilers for sheltering.
The Cloister of Draxus is unaffected by the Shelter. Even when the Shelter is active, it does not get the "Sheltered" text in the corner, does not count towards the Shelter's three uses, and still draws exclusively dead ends when drafted from.
- For the special chaining ability that extends the Shelter's effect, it does count as a Red Room. For example, if a Cloister of Draxus is drafted, then a non-red room is drafted, the Shelter will end after 3 Red Rooms even if they were all consecutive.
[Secret Shop Item: Knight's Shield] The Knight's Shield can be used on the Cloister of Draxus during drafting, but like the shelter, it does not actually do anything when this is done. The Knight's Shield does not become disabled after using it on the Cloister of Draxus, allowing another use later in the day.
