, earn an additional 1 in interest. The Coin Purse is a special item in Blue Prince. It effectively multiplies the amount of coins received, providing an additional 1 for every 3 found from other sources.

Usage
The Coin Purse has a passive effect that triggers whenever coins are gained, giving one third of the amount of coins gained as interest. This effectively multiplies all income by 4/3 over time.
The Coin Purse works by tracking most coins that are collected. After no coins have been gained for about a second, if there are three or more coins tracked, then interest is paid out based on the amount. For example, picking up two piles of 4 would increase the hidden Coin Purse tracker to 8, and then divide this amount by 3 to get a payoff of +2 with 2 left over. Coin Purse payouts are shown in under the coin count in the top right corner of the screen.
The remainder is tracked between coin pickups so that small amounts can carry over. In the previous example, if a third pile of 4 were found later, the tracker would be increased from 2 to 6 and then be divided by 3 to provide another +2, with no remainder.
If the Coin Purse is put into Coat Check or otherwise discarded, the tracked remainder is not changed when picking up coins. It may still be used again if the Coin Purse is collected again.
The following sources of coins are not tracked by the Coin Purse and will not result in additional coins:
- Coins provided by the Coin Purse itself
- Coins gained from a swap using the Laundry Room, as this sets the value of coins directly rather than explicitly granting them

All other methods to gain coins are counted by the Coin Purse, including variable coin sources and coins which are granted to player directly rather than needing to be picked up as an item. These include:
- Allowance
- Coins frozen and retained by the Freezer, if the Coin Purse was also retained by the Moon Pendant
- [Upgrade Spoiler: Bunk Room] The coin doubling effect of Bunk Room's coin upgrade, which is counted as granting a number of coins equal to the number already held

The Coin Purse can be used as a component in one contraption in the Workshop:
- Coin Purse + Lucky Rabbit's Foot = Lucky Purse
The Lucky Purse is a direct upgrade of the Coin Purse, providing 1 for every 1 gained instead of for every 3 gained. It also retains the Lucky Rabbit Foot's luck bonus. This contraption will prevent both the Coin Purse and the Lucky Rabbit's Foot from being obtainable on subsequent days if it is carried through by the Moon Pendant or stored in Coat Check.
The remainder coins tracked by the Coin Purse do not carry over to the Lucky Purse.
