The Cursed Effigy is a special item in Blue Prince.
How to obtain
The Cursed Effigy can be found in the Shrine after it has been unlocked via an unlockable purchase in the Gift Shop. To obtain the item, a Sledgehammer is required to open the coffers.
Usage
The first time the Cursed Effigy is obtained, Curse Mode is permanently unlocked.
Whenever the Cursed Effigy is gained by picking it up in the Shrine or retrieving it from Coat Check:
- If the player has more than 13
, their step count gets set to 13 - The player becomes cursed for 2 days, overriding any existing blessing.
- The coins in the Shrine are not retained in the future, and the past blessing is entirely cancelled even if it had more than 2 days remaining (in the same way as getting cursed normally).
Note that more steps can be collected after the effigy has been initially obtained. The effects are not applied when carrying the effigy to the next day using the Moon Pendant, making it possible to hold the effigy while not cursed.
The Cursed Effigy does not have any other passive or active effects, meaning the main use is simply to unlock Curse Mode.
