A dead end is any room lacking a second doorway. If a room ever has additional doorways it is not considered a dead end, even if those doorways are blocked.
Dead Ends are a subtype of room in Blue Prince. Dead ends typically either have no exits, or they have an exit that is not immediately apparent upon entering the room. Rooms of the latter kind are usually listed with the type "Dead End" in the Room Directory, but still generally count towards effects for which Dead Ends matter.
The following is a list of all Dead Ends, including upgraded variants.

- While the Bunk Room has the Dead End subtype twice and counts twice towards the total number of Dead Ends in the house, it does not trigger dead end drafting triggers twice.
- The Greenhouse may permanently change shape and cease to be a Dead End later in the game. This causes it to no longer count towards the Dead End Contest, except for the day on which the switch occurs.
Interactions
- Activating Draxus, the Dead makes Dead End floorplans more common today.
- [Outer Room: Tomb] Drafting any Dead End will spread 5 in the Tomb. This includes the Tomb itself, meaning it will always contain an initial 5.
- [Upgrade Spoiler: Cloister] Only Dead Ends can be drafted from the Cloister of Draxus. Whenever a Dead End is drafted this way, it immediately provides 4.
- [Book Spoiler: Drafting Strategy: Architectural Digest Vol. 5] Drafting at least 20 Dead Ends in one day is required for the Drafting Strategy Sweepstakes.
