― Glossary of Terms

The draft pool or drafting pool is the collection of all floorplans that can be drafted at any given time. While drafting, three floorplans from the draft pool are randomly selected and drawn. The likelihood of any given floorplan being drawn from the draft pool depends on a number of factors, primarily their rarity.

As floorplans are drafted, they are removed from the draft pool for the rest of the day. As such, the draft pool is depleted throughout the day, gradually increasing the probability that rarer floorplans may be found.

Initial draft pool

Not all floorplans are available to draft at the start of the game. The initial draft pool is the list of floorplans with those additions excluded. Many floorplans still have drafting requirements that restrict where they can be placed; for instance the West Wing Hall is available from the start of the game, but only in the West Wing.

Additions

Several drafting effects can add floorplans to the draft pool. Floorplans additions may be temporary, in which case they are removed at the end of the day, or permanent. Some drafting effects are persistent, and may add a floorplan for as long as the effect remains. Most rooms which are only available by effects that add them have the Addition subtype.

Temporary additions

  • Drafting the Pool will add the Locker Room, Pump Room and Sauna to the draft pool until the end of the day.
  • The Kitchen has a chance to sell Bacon & Eggs, which adds the Morning Room to the draft pool until the end of the day in addition to providing 10.
  • Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Nook] The Breakfast Nook always contains Bacon & Eggs, which has the same effect as it does in the Kitchen.

Permanent additions

  • The Drafting Studio allows one Studio Addition to be permanently added to the floorplan each time it is visited. Once a Studio Addition is added for the first time, the Studio Additions page appears in the Room Directory.
  • Certain Found Floorplans are hidden in secret locations throughout the estate and can be collected like items, permanently adding them to the draft pool. Once a Found Floorplan is added for the first time, the Found Floorplans page appears in the Room Directory.
  • Spoilers for post Room 46: Immediately upon reaching Room 46 for the first time and claiming inheritance, the Gift Shop is permanently added to the draft pool. It is also guaranteed to appear on the next draft. The Gallery and Trophy Room also become available at this time, those these rooms are not technically Additions and can be made available in other ways.
  • Spoilers for the Precipice: The Mantle of the Knight adds the Armory to the draft pool for as long as the power is kept.

Duplicating floorplans

Some effects add additional copies of existing floorplans into the draft pool, potentially allowing two or more identical rooms to be drafted in one day.

  • The effect of the Chamber of Mirrors allows single duplicates of certain floorplans to be drafted.
    • Spoilers for the Chamber of Mirrors: It also contains physical duplicate copies of a more specific set of floorplans, present in the room itself in a similar manner to Found Floorplans, which are permanently added to the draft pool when collected. Two duplicate floorplans can be found per Chamber.
  • A particular experiment effect adds three Aquariums to the draft pool whenever the experiment triggers.
  • Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Billiard Room] The Pool Hall upgrade mimicks the Pool, except that the three floorplans it adds - Great Hall, Foyer, and Secret Passage - are all duplicates of existing floorplans.
  • Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Hallway] A particular Hallway upgrade adds a duplicate copy of itself to tomorrow's draft pool each time it is drafted. The copies share this effect, potentially allowing dozens of Hallways to be drafted.
  • Spoilers for the Schoolhouse: The Schoolhouse adds eight copies of the Classroom to the draft pool.
  • Spoilers for the Shrine: The Blessing of the Gardener adds eight copies of the Courtyard to the draft pool.

Removal

Some effects may temporarily remove floorplans from the draft pool, including some rooms that remove themselves as part of their own effect.

  • Drafting any floorplan will remove it from the draft pool for the rest of the day.
  • The Rumpus Room temporarily removes itself for a variable number of days after seeing one of the Alzara's visions.
  • The Freezer removes itself from the draft pool for the day if it was drafted the previous day.
  • Spoilers for the Shrine: Calling it a day in a room with the Blessing of the Monk active will remove its floorplan from the draft pool the next day.
  • Spoilers for a rare item: Repellent can be used to remove any floorplan from the draft pool for seven days.

Rooms that don't use the draft pool

A small number of floorplans are never found in the draft pool under any circumstances.

This section contains spoilers for all floorplans not in the draft pool, including late-game rooms.
