File Cabinet Keys are special items in Blue Prince. Each File Cabinet Key has its own hidden distinct location and its own drawer that it opens, permanently using it. Despite appearing identical, some keys have slightly different properties to each other.

Spoilers Within
This section contains spoilers for hidden dig spots.
Draining the Aquarium via the Pump Room to a water level of 1 or less reveals an X mark in two of its tanks, leading to hidden dig spots which contain the following File Cabinet Keys:
These keys can be found lying near their excavated dig spots on future days if they are lost without being used.
Spoilers Within
This section contains spoilers for the endgame.
In the Crate Tunnel, once at least 23 crates have been cleared using the experimental effect, a File Cabinet Key can be found in plain sight on a small ledge in the tunnel:
This key can be found lying in its original location on future days if it is lost without being used. This key has a number of strange and unique properties.
Common interactions
- File Cabinet Keys cannot be seen on the Security inventory.
[Outer Room: Trading Post] File Cabinet Keys do not appear as options in the Trading Post.
