The grand baroque hall of Mt. Holly is impressive to behold. This ornamented passage is flanked with marble pillars and bust statues of the more prominent figures of the Sinclair family legacy.
― Room Directory

The Foyer is a room in Blue Prince. It is listed as Room 7 of the Hallways page in the Room Directory.

Points of interest

The Foyer contains 6 busts of family members, displayed along the corridor. Some of those busts can be found on other rooms of the mansion, but without the accompanying name plate.

Spoilers Within

This section contains spoilers for the identity of the busts.

Tomas Sinclair and William Epsen appear in several other documents throughout the mansion, including the family tree found in the Root Cellar. Edwin Sinclair, Count Isaac Gates, and Major Nicolas Key IV are not mentioned in any other document throughout the estate and their identities remain a mystery. Je Ari Yenna is mentioned twice. The surname Je Ari appears in the Archives, connecting it to the royal line of Orinda, while the Erajan word Yenna is found in a memo inside the Treasure Trove. See Erajan for more information.

Several busts of Count Issac Gates can be found in the Office. These busts, and the attached name, are important for solving the room's puzzle.

Effect

Once drafted, every door in a Hallway will have all its doors unlocked. This applies to all hallways, regardless of if they were drafted before or after the Foyer, and includes the Foyer itself.

This effect also includes security doors; in this forced-unlock state, the security doors do not require a Keycard and can even be opened if the Keycard System is offline and the offline mode set to locked.

If a second Foyer is somehow drafted, the second one does not produce any additional effect.

Interactions

  • The Foyer's effect also works on the doors that are guaranteed to be locked in the Great Hall and Studio Additions [Studio Addition: Vestibule], making them unlocked anyway.
  • The Foyer cannot be drawn while drafting in the Library unless at least 2 are held.
  • Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Billiard Room] The Pool Hall adds a second Foyer to the draft pool.
