This room is always warm as its glass walls and roof help to retain the sun's rays. The gardener, however, should be scolded for the soil here is dry and the flower beds are devoid of all signs of life.
― Room Directory

The Greenhouse is a room in Blue Prince. It is listed as Room 6 of the Green Rooms page in the Room Directory.

Drafting requirements

The Greenhouse can only spawn when drafting north on the East Wing, or south on the West Wing. It also cannot appear on the corners.

After drafting North from E1, it becomes unable to spawn from normal drafting (Prism Key still works) until a draft is made going North on the East Wing. (This makes the room unable to spawn on E2 in normal circumstances.)

The gems that shine in night and rain
The clue you hold can not be paid
With gems nor coin, so toss away,
These sheets you find a worthy trade

Effect

It also makes Secret Passage appear more often despite that room not being green.

Interactions

As a Drafting Room

  • Studio Additions [Studio Addition: Dormitory] Entering the Dormitory after drafting the Greenhouse will grant 10.
  • Studio Additions [Studio Addition: Classroom] Drafting the Greenhouse provides an additional redraw when drafting in a Classroom.

As a Green Room

  • The Greenhouse costs no gems to draft if the Terrace is on the estate.
  • The Greenhouse is more likely to contain random items when drafted while the Veranda is on the estate.
  • Drafting the Patio may spread a green gem to the Greenhouse.
  • The Watering Can can be used once in the Greenhouse to exchange one 1 for 1.
  • Drafting the Greenhouse after activating Florealis, Bloom of the Sky today will cause it to contain a gem flower.
  • The Greenhouse is drawn significantly more often during a Green Rooms-restricted draft, initiated by using the green book in the Secret Passage or by using the Prism Key on a locked Green Room door.
  • West Path [Outer Room: Shrine] Drafting the Greenhouse while cursed will cause the player to lose 1.
  • Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Nursery] Drafting the Greenhouse will cause 2 to appear in the Indoor Nursery.
  • Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Cloister] Drafting the Greenhouse from the Cloister of Rynna will increase luck today.

The new greenhouse icon

The Greenhouse, while initially a Dead End, has a hidden passage which includes an extra exit door. This hidden section can be permanently opened by using the Power Hammer on the brick wall to the left after entering. This will also reveal The Original Gardener's Logbook, penned by Denny Revane.

After the wall is removed, the floorplan is updated to reveal the new door and the room permanently changes to an L-shape room. The Greenhouse's type-line loses both the Dead End and Drafting types for some reason, becoming just a Green Room with a trailing comma.

The updated Greenhouse retains most of its interactions: it keeps its Drafting Room interactions, it is still made more common by Draxus, the Dead, can still only be drafted northwards or southwards as opposed to through the new door, and still spreads gold to the Tomb. However, if the wall was opened on a previous day, it no longer counts towards the total number of Dead Ends in the house.

Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Cloister] The Greenhouse cannot usually be drafted from the Cloister whatsoever due to the two rooms' drafting requirements. It is possible to out-draft the Cloister on either wing with a Green Rooms-restricted draft due to the Cloister's position as a default Green Room and draft the Greenhouse from it this way; however, the Cloister of Draxus does not hold the same position as a Red Room and cannot be drafted on the wings this way. Nevertheless, it is possible to invoke both Draxus effects by out-drafting the base Cloister or any green Cloister upgrade on a wing and then upgrading the floorplan to the Draxus version, which causes the existing Cloister to gain the Draxus upgrade's effects. Doing this reveals that the Greenhouse can always be drawn under Draxus' restriction effect, but no longer provides dice once the wall is broken.
