Considering the amount of floor plans and different doors that can appear on any given day, it was only a matter of time before a fulltime locksmith service became an essential requisite on the estate.

The Locksmith is a room in Blue Prince. It is listed as a the third room on the Shops page of the Room Directory.

The Locksmith never contains physical items, even at high luck.

  • The Key and Set of Keys can be purchased infinitely without limit. The Set of Keys gives 3 on purchase.
  • The Special Key can only be purchased once per day. It can be any of Silver Key, Prism Key or Secret Garden Key. If all of those keys are unavailable at the time of purchase, it gives Car Keys. If those are unavailable, it gives a duplicate Silver Key.
    • West Path [Outer Room: Trading Post] If a Master Key was traded at a Trading Post earlier in the day, a Master Key will be given before the duplicate Silver Key.
  • The Lock Pick Kit cannot be purchased if it is already owned or in the estate.
    • Drafting the Locksmith does not remove the Lock Pick Kit from the item pool, allowing it to spawn in rooms drafted after the Locksmith.
    • West Path [Outer Room: Trading Post] If the Locksmith shop is checked while the Lock Pick Kit is not in the item pool, it remains sold out for the rest of the day, even if it reenters the item pool via a trade in the Trading Post. This does not happen if the shop is not checked.

The Special Key purchase gives the first option that is available. If they are all unavailable, it falls back to Car Keys as above.

The Sail Sale

Activating The Sail will cause the Locksmith's shop items to go on sale today, cutting their prices in half, rounded up. The labels for the sale prices are bugged, and do not match the actual sale prices. The options can still be selected even while holding less gold than the labelled price.

While The Sail is active, a flyer appears on the counter and a small badge appears on the shopping interface.

Interactions

  • West Path [Outer Room: Shrine] Having the Locksmith on the estate causes the Key Lime Pie, a dish added to the Dining Room by spreading keys with Blessing of the Chef active, to provide an additional 1.

When entering the Locksmith with a Powered Electromagnet, the keys from the back wall of the room are stolen. This usually gives 24, though it can occasionally give less, and prevents buying regular keys from the shop for the rest of the day. It does not prevent purchasing the special key or Lock Pick Kit if they are still available.
