Items

The Master Bedroom sometimes contains items, most often on the table near the typewriter. The possibilities are:

Mora Jai Box

The Master Bedroom also includes a Mora Jai Box on a table.

This Mora Jai Box can be solved in a minimum of 2 presses, not including the final step of locking in the corners. One such solution is given by the following:

9, 8
Solutions use telephone keypad style notation and don't include the final corner steps.

This Mora Jai Box can be solved in a minimum of 2 presses, not including the final step of locking in the corners. One such solution is as follows:

  1. Press the bottom right grid tile
  2. Press the bottom center grid tile
  3. Press each of the four symbol tiles

The box contains an Allowance Token. The box never spawns again once it has been solved, meaning that the token can only be acquired on the day the box is opened and can be permanently missed if it is not collected when the box is solved. However, if multiple copies of the Master Bedroom are drafted on the same day without the box being solved, they will each contain a copy of the box. These boxes can then all be solved to obtain an Allowance Token from each of them.

Documents

There are three pages on the room, two of them on the table with the typewriter, and the last one by the Mora Jai Box.

  • The first is a page addressed to Herbert S. Sinclair pointing the location for the elevator controls of the Foundation.
  • The second is a unfinished letter, still in the typewriter. It's likely penned by Herbert Sinclair, as it's his room, but it's not clear whether the letter is addressed to Simon Sinclair or Simon Jones.
  • The last is a printed sheet giving a bit of background and the basic rules of Mora Jai boxes.

Next, a signed copy of The Red Prince is present on the nightstand, next to the bed.

Lastly, there is a picture of Daniel Jones, Mary Jones and Simon Jones next to the book.

One more feature of the room is of note, the coat of arms directly above the entrance. And identical one can be found in the Wine Cellar.

The coat of arms is required to solve the Family Core Puzzle.

Effect

Entering the Master Bedroom for the first time after drafting it provides +1 step for each room in the house. Like the effect of the Guest Bedroom, these steps require actually entering the room and can only be gained once per Master Bedroom. The number of steps gained can be increased by drafting other rooms before entering.

  • [Permanent Addition: West Path] Unlike many similar effects, this effect really does only include rooms in the house and not Outer Rooms.

Interactions

  • The Bunk Room does not count as two rooms for the Master Bedroom's effect.
  • The Master Bedroom cannot be drawn while drafting in the Library unless at least 2 are held.

Spoilers Within

This section contains spoilers for a post Room 46 purchase.

Once the Mount Holly Gift Shop is accessible, players can buy a Swim Bird Plushie to be added to the Master Bedroom permanently for 110. This is a purely visual change and does not affect gameplay.

As a Bedroom

  • Drafting the Master Bedroom with a Nursery in the estate provides 5.
  • Drafting the Master Bedroom will cause an additional 1 to spawn in the Servant's Quarters when the latter is drafted.
  • Drafting the Master Bedroom can trigger or contribute towards triggering a particular experimental trigger which is activated by drafting Bedrooms after the first two.
  • Entering the Master Bedroom while holding Sleeping Mask provides +5, once per room.
  • The Master Bedroom is drawn significantly more often during a Bedrooms-restricted draft, initiated by using the violet book in the Secret Passage or by using the Prism Key on a locked Bedroom door.
    • If there are not enough valid Bedrooms in the draft pool to complete a draw, these effects can also draw duplicate copies of the Master Bedroom. This can't break the Master Bedroom's usual positional requirements.
  • West Path [Outer Room: Shrine] Drafting the Master Bedroom while cursed will cause the player to lose 1.
  • Upgrade Disk [Upgrade Spoiler: Cloister] Drafting the Master Bedroom from the Cloister of Mila will cause it to contain an additional item. See Cloister of Mila for more information.

As a Dead End

Additional information

  • Previously, it was possible to draft the Master Bedroom south from Rank 2 into Rank 1 and north from Rank 8 into Rank 9, though it still could not be drafted into any corners this way. This was fixed in Patch 1.05.
  • Found Floorplans [Found Floorplan: Conservatory] The Master Bedroom's drafting requirements are explained in a note found in the Conservatory, along with some other floorplans.
