Outer Rooms are a special subtype of room in Blue Prince. They are drafted outside the house in a location accessible via the West Path. Only one Outer Room can be drafted each day.

There are eight rooms listed in the Outer Rooms section of the Room Directory, comprising all of the Outer Rooms in the game. All Outer Rooms are also Dead Ends.

Drafting

Beyond the Estate

Outer Rooms do not use the normal room drafting system. A list of all 8 Outer Rooms is created, and manipulations occur on this list in this order:

  • The list is shuffled uniformly randomly.
  • The Tomb, Schoolhouse, and Shrine, in that order, have a chance to get moved to a specific position in the list. See the respective room's page for details.
  • If it is the first time drafting the Outer Room, then Root Cellar, Toolshed, and Hovel are moved to the first three slots.
    • If it is Day 1 and Veteran Mode was enabled by drafting the first few rooms quickly, this effect is disabled.
  • If the room that was drafted last time an Outer Room was drafted is one of the first three entries of the list, it gets moved to the fourth slot.
  • Hovel, Root Cellar, and Trading Post get moved to the first slot if their respective color is more common today.
    • If multiple such effects are active, they occur in sequence in the order of the three rooms listed (so if all three are active, you're left with the order Trading Post, Root Cellar, Hovel).
    • Note that Greenhouse counts for green.
  • If Blueprints are more common today, one of the following four things happens (25% of each):
  • If Draxus, the Dead is active, or Blackprints are more common today, Tomb is moved to the first slot.

(When multiple rooms are moved to the front of the list, the order they are placed in matches the stated order.)

When drawing rooms, the offering will always be the rooms in the first three slots, in that order; redrawing goes to the next three, and so on, acting like the list is cyclic.

If Blessing of the Monk is active, the respective room is presented in the third slot, with the room in the third slot appearing on redraw. (The monked room never appears on redraws.)
