― Room Directory

The Passageway is a room in Blue Prince. Listed as Room 5 of the Hallways page in the Room Directory, the Passageway is a typical example of a 4-way room; it is the most common one and as such the one that most players will encounter first. Its frequent appearance and abundance of doors is offset by its 2 drafting cost and complete lack of any documents or items, even with high luck.

Interactions

  • Activating The Southern Cross makes the Passageway more common today.
  • The Passageway cannot be drawn while drafting in the Library unless at least 2 are held.
  • [Boiler Room spoilers] The Passageway is fitted with steam ducts, allowing it to convey steam power from the Boiler Room. Since it has four doors, it can split steam power in three different directions. The Passageway also has an increased chance to be drawn when drafting from other rooms with ducts, and has an increased chance to draw those rooms when being drafted from.
  • [Chamber of Mirrors Spoiler] The Chamber of Mirrors may contain a physical copy of the Passageway's floorplan in one of its cabinets which can be permanently added to the draft pool.

Additional information

  • In Drafting Strategy: Architectural Digest Vol. 3, the Passageway is mentioned twice:
    • In the introductory page, one of the questions it claims to answer is "Is Passageway really worth two gems?"
    • One of the gem testimonials says "I will never draft PASSAGEWAY on the first five ranks. It's a simple strat that has served me well."
