Spoilers Ahead
This page contains spoilers for a Very Secret Room. View at your own discretion.
Room 8 is a room in Blue Prince. Named for its position in the Room Directory and following on directly from the Gallery, it is the ultimate Puzzle Room, with its very existence locked behind several other puzzles.
Room 8 does not appear in the initial draft pool and can never be added to it, making its floorplan impossible to draw under normal circumstances. Instead, Room 8 can only be drafted by using Key 8 on any locked door that leads to a room on Rank 8. Using Key 8 this way skips drawing floorplans and drafts Room 8 immediately, similar to the usage of the Secret Garden Key.
Room 8 will always be drafted from its south door if possible, as seen from its floorplan image, to match the view of the room provided by the Gallery. In the circumstances where this would result in the side door leading outside of the house, it is drafted from that door instead, resulting in the corner room pointing left instead of right. This is limited to drafting northwards from Rank 7 in the East Wing, and drafting southwards from Rank 9 in the West Wing.
With multiple copies of Key 8, multiple copies of Room 8 can be drafted.
Room 8 contains eight bins labelled with sins surrounding the central lemniscate. Clockwise starting from the left, the sins are HUBRIS, ENVY, LUST, WRATH, GLUTTONY, SLOTH, AVARICE and MUNDANITY. The final sin is non-standard and is not visible in the Gallery rendition, which only shows the first seven.
In addition to all of the contents of the artwork, a number of figures can be found in the corner immediately to the left after entering. Each figure resembles a different animal and has a short poetic description:
Figures have several differences from regular items:
Each bin contains an octagonal platform upon which a held figure can be placed by pressing [E]. Solving Room 8 requires placing each figure in its correct bin.
Some figures can be placed immediately:
Following these initial placements, a pair of figures can be placed:
Finally, the remaining figures can be placed by elimination:
Placing all eight figures correctly causes a wall segment near the figure shelves to raise and present the player with Trophy 8 and two Allowance Tokens.
Unlike the Gallery, Room 8 resets each time it is drafted even after being solved. If Room 8 is solved after the trophy has already been collected, it instead contains a single Allowance Token.
It is always drawn the same way as it appears in the Room Directory with its side door facing rightwards, and it cannot cannot be rotated, likely because it must be drafted from the door facing the lemniscate statue if able.
The room itself has no significant differences as an Outer Room from its Rank 8 equivalent. Since it is never in the draft pool, it is also never removed when under the effects of the Blessing of the Monk. Key 8 will still allow an additional copy of Room 8 to be drafted even if it is already present as an Outer Room.
