Room Directory

The room directory, also called the Mount Holly Directory, House Directory and simply the Directory, is an in-game resource that allows players to view the basic details of the various rooms that they have discovered. It can be accessed by pressing [R] at any time on the estate. If Simon is currently in a room, that room's directory page is opened; otherwise, the main directory menu is opened. The directory can also be accessed from the system menu.

Overview

The room directory consists of a number of pages of rooms organized by color. The first four pages contain the 46 numbered rooms of the estate, all of which are Blueprints, and are organized further by based on their effects. The next five pages each list 8 rooms of others colors: Bedrooms, Hallways, Green Rooms, Shops, and Red Rooms respectively. There is no particular page for Blackprints.

Each multicolored floorplan has just one unique spot in the room directory despite having more than one color. For instance, Maid's Chamber is both a Bedroom and a Red Room, but it is only found in on the Red Rooms page in the directory. Rooms will remain fixed in place in the directory even if they somehow change colors.

Room pages

Room entry pages generally cannot be viewed until they have been drafted at least once on the current save file. Undiscovered rooms will be shown as a blank gray tile, plus the room's number if applicable. Once a room is drafted, it becomes permanently visible in the directory. The Entrance Hall, Antechamber, and Room 46 are visible in the room directory from the start of the game, with no need to draft or enter them.

Each room's directory page shows:

  • An enlarged image of its floorplan
  • The room's name
  • The room's description
  • The room's gem cost, if it has one
  • The room's types and subtypes
  • The room's rarity
  • The number of times the room has been drafted on the current save file.

The room directory

Below are all of the rooms in the estate, listed as they appear in room directory.

Rooms 001-012

The first page of rooms in the Room Directory consists of relatively nondescript miscellaneous rooms, Puzzle Rooms, and rooms which contain ranges of items.

Rooms 013-024

Each row contains rooms that provide a particular resource: keys, gems, and coins respectively.

Rooms 025-036

The first six rooms are all Drafting Rooms. The latter six rooms are all Mechanical Rooms.

Rooms 037-046

The first row contains Tomorrow Rooms, and the second row contains miscellaneous rooms with unique effects which do not fit neatly into any of the above categories. The final row rooms are both Objective Rooms.

During the course of the game, it is possible to find rooms that are not listed in any of the above categories. Most of these rooms are additional rooms, which do not begin in your draft pool and must be added by another item or effect. Those rooms are listed here.

Studio Additions

Main article: Studio Additions

These additional rooms can be permanently added to the draft pool from the Drafting Studio. When a room is added this way, the Studio Additions page becomes visible in the room directory and a grayed-out version of the newly added floorplan can be seen, indicating that the floorplan has been added but not yet drafted. Its room page can still be inspected, even if it has never been drawn. Rooms that have not been added or drafted do not appear, even as a blank tile.

It is technically possible to access certain Studio Additions before using the Drafting Studio; for instance, the Classroom can be temporarily added via the Schoolhouse. However, the Studio Additions page only appears once the Drafting Studio has been used at least once, and until this happens, the room's directory page is only visible within the room itself.

Found Floorplans

Main article: Found Floorplans

These additional rooms must be found hidden throughout the estate and collected before they can be drafted. There is no particular pattern to how each floorplan is hidden, making each room on this page its own independent secret. Like with the Studio Additions, this page is unavailable until at least one Found Floorplan has been collected, and all undiscovered floorplans are entirely absent.

Outer Rooms

Main article: Outer Rooms

These rooms are not additional rooms, but they can only be drafted from the Outer Room door accessible via the west path. This page becomes visible once any Outer Room has been drafted.
