An underground store of jarred vegetables and fruits from Mount Holly's gardens. It's always amazing what great things come from a little digging around in the dirt.
The Root Cellar is a room in Blue Prince. It is listed as Room 5 of the Outer Rooms page in the Room Directory.

The Root Cellar contains both a note and a page on the wall. The note includes a clipped article of Mary Jones disappearance.
The family tree on the wall displays part of the Sinclair and Epsen Family tree, including the coat of arms for both.

Using a magnifying glass, it's possible to uncover a hidden text along one of the roots of the family tree. It reads "Simon P. Jones"
Effect
Drafting the Root Cellar increases the chance of any room having at least one dig spot. It also appear to increase the volume of dig spots for rooms that are prone to having dig spots. Players must still obtain a Shovel in order to make full use of the Root Cellar's effect.
Interactions
- While the Root Cellar is not technically a Spread Room, its effect can still benefit from the Conference Room.
As a Green Room
- The Root Cellar is more likely to contain random items when drafted while the Veranda is on the estate.
- Drafting the Patio may spread a green gem to the Root Cellar.
- The Watering Can can be used once in the Root Cellar to exchange one 1
for 1
. - Drafting the Root Cellar after activating Florealis, Bloom of the Sky today will cause it to contain a gem flower.
[Outer Room: Shrine] Drafting the Root Cellar while cursed will cause the player to lose 1.
[Upgrade Spoiler: Nursery] Drafting the Root Cellar will cause 2 to appear in the Indoor Nursery.
