The Axe
You may use THE AXE in the Room Directory to permanently remove the gem cost from one room.
The Axe is a special item in Blue Prince. It can be used to remove the gem cost of a room that has one.
How to obtain
This item can be purchased from the following shops.
- The Armory — 32
Once The Axe has been used three times, it never appears again.
Usage
By selecting a room with a gem cost in the Room Directory with this item in your inventory, the axe appears in the bottom right corner. Clicking it brings up a confirmation message: Would you like to permanently AXE this floorplan's gem cost?
Selecting yes uses The Axe (removing it from inventory), but that floorplan permanently loses its gem cost, costing 0 gems to draft.
Only three rooms can be affected by The Axe. If a fourth The Axe is somehow obtained, using it will remove the axed effect from the third room that was axed.

Axed rooms, despite losing their gem cost, still act like they have one for the purposes of drafting. This means they will always appear alongside some other floorplan with no gem cost (in normal drafting), and spawn at the same rates as gem rooms (more often with more gems in hand, and on higher rank).
