A secure onsite depository fitted with steel walls and numbered lockers. This fortified strongroom holds a good portion of the Sinclair fortune despite the fact that several inventories have led accountants to assume the true legacy is hidden elsewhere.
― Room Directory

The Vault is a room in Blue Prince. Listed as Room 023 of the Room Directory, the Vault is a rare and expensive Dead End that contains wealth beyond the hoard of gold it offers.

Items

The Vault always contains eight piles of 5 on the desk towards the right of the room, for a grand total of 40.

Additionally, there is a chance for one of the following items in the central pit of the desk, or inside the main vault on the left:

Safe deposit boxes

Interacting with Box 233 while holding Vault Key 233

The vault's round door is fixed wide open, though none of the golden trophies or trinkets within are interactable in any way. Hundreds of safe deposit boxes line the walls of the Vault interior, made up from 12 great cabinets each consisting of 31 boxes, for a total of 372 deposit boxes.

All boxes are initially shut and locked, and cannot ordinarily be interacted with. However, with a Vault Key, the box with the number corresponding to the key becomes interactable, bringing up a prompt that allows the key to be used. Unlocking a box is permanent; although the key is not consumed on use, it will be permanently removed from the item pool afterwards and will never be obtainable again. Box doors can be freely closed and opened again once unlocked.

Multiple different Vault Keys exist, each corresponding to a different box in the Vault. The contents of each box are fixed, generally consisting of some mix of resource items, unique items and documents. The resource items only appear when the box is initially unlocked and do not spawn again on subsequent days.

Interactions

  • The Vault does not count as a Blueprint for effects that cause Blueprints to be drawn more often. [Late-Game Quest Item: Royal Scepter] It also does not count for the Royal Scepter's "call it a day" effect, despite counting for other purposes.
  • The Vault cannot be drawn while drafting in the Library unless at least 2 are held.
